Retail Leader Returns to LJ Hooker Commercial
Former QIC Retail Leasing Manager David Sheppard has returned to LJ Hooker Commercial Brisbane, the award-winning agency where he started his commercial property career.
Mr Sheppard has re-joined as a Director alongside Ben and Kerry Armstrong with the trio collectively offering 100 years of commercial expertise within the executive.
At QIC, Mr Sheppard (pictured left with Ben Armstrong) managed the leasing strategies of the Queensland Government-owned corporation’s shopping centres throughout Australia including the Forest Lake Shopping Centre, Kippa-ring Shopping Centre, Hinkler Central in Bundaberg, Bathurst City Centre and Pittwater Place in Sydney.
Mr Sheppard previously spent eight years at LJ Hooker Commercial Brisbane where he progressed to become General Manager of Sales.
Knowing the office’s connections and capabilities across all commercial sectors, Mr Sheppard said he was thrilled to be returning to the business – the LJ Hooker Commercial network’s top performing Queensland agency – in a leadership role.
“It’s an agency with a 45-year history of supporting clients to optimise their property portfolios and divest for premium outcomes that support their business and wealth objectives,” said Mr Sheppard.
“The agency has been a central player in the evolution of Brisbane’s commercial property market over the decades and, with developments in technology, the team’s knowledge and acumen has seen its services sought out right across the state.”
Mr Sheppard said he was excited to leverage almost half a century of brand profile and industry-leading processes of LJ Hooker Commercial Brisbane.
“As a Director, it was an easy decision: I can concentrate my efforts on delivering outcomes for clients rather than navigating the early stages of growing a business,” he said.
Ben Armstrong said Mr Sheppard’s return underlined the proposition the office offered commercial professionals.
“David has developed 20-years of expertise across agency and in-house environments that will drive LJ Hooker Commercial Brisbane in its next chapter,” he said.
“He’s a dynamic operator whose management experience will bring fresh perspectives to our client offering. He’s worked with many of our team previously and appreciates the culture that we’ve developed at LJ Hooker Commercial Brisbane.”
Head of Commercial at LJ Hooker, Tom Donnelly, said: “It’s a great vote of confidence in our brand when we have talent return to utilise our marketing, tech and collaborative culture. It’s especially pleasing when they return as an owner, keen to lay a platform for their future”.
“The Armstrongs have created an exceptional commercial business and David will use the experience he’s gained at QIC and elsewhere to further shape its capabilities.”
