Toowoomba’s Chris Stewart has been awarded the state’s top commercial real estate agent following a stellar year delivering premium results for sellers and investors throughout South-West Queensland.
Mr Stewart, Associate Director at LJ Hooker Commercial Toowoomba, received the honour at the Real Estate Institute of Queensland’s annual gala at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday night.
Mr Stewart has been a sought-after commercial specialist over the last year throughout Toowoomba and surrounding markets, advising clients on how to capitalise on the area’s unique market conditions.
“The market has been very buoyant in Toowoomba and the Southern and Western downs over the last year,” said Mr Stewart.
“Occupiers and investors have been drawn to Toowoomba because of the long list of infrastructure additions for the region. Wellcamp Airport has made travel to Sydney and Melbourne more convenient for local professionals and made exporting to Asia easier for producers; the Second Range Crossing has created efficiencies and certainty for transport and logistics operators between the Western Downs and the Port of Brisbane.
“Businesses and investors are also positioning themselves ahead of the arrival of the Inland Rail connection.
“And with all the infrastructure, our affordability comes into even greater focus. Industrial land, for instance, is a third of the cost of what is being paid in some industrial precincts in Brisbane, and that’s very attractive for both developers and occupiers.”
